Locational knowledge at the heart of KS3

In July, I took part in We Are In Beta’s Curriculum Thinking week alongside many other geographers. When asked to put together a 10-minute presentation, I automatically thought of our recent work around locational knowledge and placing this at the heart of our KS3 curriculum. Whilst I've long tried to improve the locational knowledge of students (using, for example, this short series of lessons to end Year 9 in the past), it’s in my current role as Trust Lead, writing a KS3 curriculum from scratch for the third time in my career, that I think I’ve truly placed locational knowledge at the heart of our curriculum.
